About Us
Established in 1950, Angus Dundee Distillers has over 75 years’ experience of distilling, bottling and exporting Scotch whisky and other spirits around the world.
We own three single malt distilleries - Tomintoul Distillery set in the heart of Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park, Glencadam Distillery, located in the ancient city of Brechin in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland - each producing their own range of award-winning Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. As well as Chun’an Distillery, which overlooks the Thousand Island Lake in the Zhejiang province in China.
About Whisky
Scotch whisky is defined as being either a malt whisky, a grain whisky or a combination of the two, which is distilled and matured in Scotland for a minimum of three years in oak wood casks. Many distilleries mature their whiskies for more than 3 years & highlight these ages on their bottles.
There are six whisky producing regions in Scotland as indicated in the map.
Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the product of one distillery using only malted barley and traditional batch production methods. Blended Scotch combines carefully selected single malt and grain whiskies. Grain Scotch is made from various cereal grains using continuous column distillation. Blended Malt mixes single malts from different distilleries, while Single Cask Scotch Whisky is bottled from one individual cask from a single distillery, making each release unique.
